Freetown Stabbing Suspect Arrested
Lafayette Police have arrested one woman for her involvement in a stabbing incident in the Freetown area.
Police spokesman Corporal Karl Ratcliff said 36-year-old Verna Perrio was identified as the suspect after officers located the victim at a local hospital Thursday morning.
The incident occurred in the 900 block of East Vermilion Street.
The 35-year-old female victim was being treated for a stab wound to the upper body, Ratcliff said.
Perrio was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for aggravated second-degree battery.
