Iberia Deputies Arrest A Local Man For The Shooting Death Of A Woman

Just before 3:00 a.m. Tuesday morning Iberia Parish Sheriff's deputies were called out to the intersection of Corrine and Field Streets after a woman had been shot.  Police found the woman lying in the street, and she was taken to a hospital for treatment where she later died from her injuries.

Iberia deputies have now arrested 53-year-old Roman Ford for the murder of 41-year-old Jenny Washington.  Deputies believe that Ford was involved in some type of altercation with the victim prior to the shooting.

Ford has been charged with second degree murder.
