Iberia Deputies Arrest Four Following Investigation of Stolen Items
Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal says his detectives have recovered close to $40,000 in stolen items.
Deputies say the investigation started when detectives found multiple stolen items at a home in the 7000 block of Jackie Street.
Detectives say they found stolen utility trailers, laptop computers and power tools.
The search of the Jackie Street home then led detectives to search a home in the 400 block of Bayard Street in New Iberia where they found other stolen items including a handgun and two motorcycles. They also found illegal narcotics
Three people were arrested at that time:
- 26-year-old Ashley Duhon was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia
- 23-year-old Joshua B. Boudreaux was arrested for failure to appear
- 21-year-old Rusty Derouen was arrested for violation of a protective order and resisting an officer
Detectives also had warrants out for a fourth suspect, 42-year-old Scotty Latiolais of New Iberia. He has been charged with:
- Possession of schedule II
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of stolen property over 500
- Parole violation
- Possession with intent Schedule II
- Felon carrying illegal weapons
- Possession with fire arm with controlled dangerous substance
- Subsequent second offender
- Creation operation clandestine lab
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
The stolen property that was recovered from these addresses come from Iberia and other parishes.
Detectives say their investigation continues, and likely more arrests will be made.
