Iberia Deputies Search For Attempted Murder Suspect

Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal's office says deputies are trying to find 35-year-old Junius Roman III after a domestic violence incident on Highway 14 in New Iberia Sunday night.

Major Ryan Turner tells KPEL that Roman went to his girlfriend's home around 9:30, hit her, and she closed the door on him.

The man is then alleged to have fired through the door, and the victim was hit, not by a shot, but by flying debris.

Roman is wanted for the following:

• Attempted 2nd degree murder
• Domestic abuse battery
