Lafayette Police Investigate Dump Truck Fatality

Yesterday afternoon at approximately 3:30pm Lafayette Police were called out to the 2200 block of Cameron Street to investigate an accident involving a dump truck and a pedestrian. Investigators determined that the truck was backing on to a lot when the pedestrian walked behind the truck. The pedestrian, identified as 56 year old Douglas W. Perroncel of Lafayette was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department. No citations were issued.
