Lafayette Man Arrested In Officer-involved Shooting (UPDATED)

UPDATE: Louisiana State Police say the person shot - 19-year-old Keion Bonner of Lafayette - has now been arrested and faces the following charges:

• Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer
• Possession of a Stolen Firearm
• Illegal Carrying of Weapon

UPDATE: The person who was shot last night has been identified as Keion Bonner.

A Lafayette police officer was involved in a shooting Tuesday night.

The shooting happened near the intersection on Hilda and Cora Streets in Lafayette.  

Witnesses say that an alleged altercation occurred between three individuals and two police officers. One of those three individuals was allegedly shot several times.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being investigated.
