Landon Broussard was charged with the first degree murder and rape of 3 year old Julien Madera but his trial was postponed indefinitely. Now his public defenders are asking that Broussard be transferred from Angola to the Lafayette Parish Jail because travel time is hindering preparations for an adequate defense. According to our news partner KATC, State District Court Judge Laurie Hulin Monday postponed ruling on the requested transfer. Prosecutor William Babin said it was too early to move Broussard with no trial date being set.
