“The Lafayette Food Junkie Show,” which airs from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday nights here on Newstalk 96.5 KPEL, gives Lafayette and the Acadiana area its own show dedicated to the food we all love to enjoy and talk about!

On Sunday’s show, Tiffiany Decou, “The Lafayette Food Junkie,” and Chef Zach Doise with “LaStreat” food truck had a very "hot" show this week. They were joined by Dana Romero, chairman of the Louisiana Hot Sauce Festival, and La. Style Hot Sauce World Co-Champion and BBQ Legend John Hard of Cajohn's Fiery Foods and originally from Columbus, Ohio, as well as Co-Champion Jeff Schmidt of Dog-Gone Sauces of Florida, to talk about the upcoming event. They talked about how they got into the hot sauce business, how they make their award-winning hot sauces and the great time that will be had at the inaugural event, which will be held at LARC's Acadian Village on July 19 - 21.

According to their mission statement, the Louisiana Hot Sauce Festival's objective is to promote the Louisiana hot sauce industry by encouraging the use of hot sauce in cooking during cooking contests and demonstrations throughout the event, and highlighting both small and large hot sauce manufacturers here in Louisiana!

Tiffiany and Chef Zach also spoke with James German of 705 Club about their upcoming food drive. Tiffiany also talked about her Eat Lafayette Restaurant of the Week: Jolie's. She pointed out how there was no wait for their brunch. Their Eat Lafayette special: a Complimentary Martini Jolie with purchase of an entree.
