Man Arrested After Stabbing At Lafayette Motel
A man trying to defend himself was stabbed multiple times at a motel in the 100 block of Alcide Dominique Drive.
Lafayette Police Department Spokesman Sergeant Wayne Griffin says that Friday afternoon they were called out to a motel after a man allegedly jumped the counter and started stabbing the guy working there.
Another person jumped in and was able to hold the man down until police got there. Griffin says that Troy Ledeux was arrested in connection with the case.
Griffin says that Ledeux was trying to get a room at the motel, but because of the strangeness of his actions, the clerk wasn't allowing him to get a room. Ledeux then allegedly jumped the counter and started slashing the clerk at the front desk.
The front desk clerk suffered some severe injuries from the knife attack, but the second suspect only had some minor cuts.
Ledeux hurt himself during all of this so he was taken in for treatment. Once he was treated, police booked the man into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
