It's time to do a little Lone Star lookback as far as the Texas Lottery and the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game are concerned. Texas Lottery players in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and other Texas cities and communities were first invited to try their luck in the Mega Millions game back in 2003. Since 2003 Texas tickets have claimed 14 different Mega Millions jackpots.

Last night, Tuesday, August 20, 2024, the Mega Millions Game was hoping to find a winner for an estimated $498 million dollars. The game has not produced a jackpot winner since June 4th of this year. Based on history, I would say the Mega Millions game is poised to change someone's life in a rather big way.

Here is how Tuesday's drawing unfolded:

To win a jackpot in the Mega Millions game a player must match the numbers on the five white balls that are drawn and the Mega Ball which is drawn from a different hopper. The white ball numbers range from 1 to 70 and the Mega Ball numbers range from 1-25. A player may choose their own numbers or they may let the lottery's computer do a random number "quick pick".

The "quick pick" is the choice of most lottery winners. We're not really sure if it's because it's "more lucky" or if it's a case of "more people choose that option". But regardless, the quick pick is responsible for most of the large lottery wins in Texas and around the nation.

Our sources at Mega Millions have revealed that no ticket sold for Tuesday's drawing matched the numbers needed to claim the $498 million jackpot. From Austin, Texas our sources at the Texas Lottery also confirmed that fact but did reveal that two Texas-sold tickets earned a prize of $10,000.

No, those weren't the largest prizes awarded in last night's game that distinction goes to a ticket sold in Delaware that earned a Match 5 Million prize but because they opted for the megaplier their prize was multiplied by 4, making the total haul from a three dollar investment $4 million before taxes.

The numbers that we saw roll out of the hopper in Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing were :

05   20   26   49   51   Mega Ball 24    Megaplier x4

Use those numbers as a reference source but please, before you attempt to collect a prize, verify your ticket at the Official Mega Millions Website or the Official Texas Lottery Website. Those sites can confirm your exact prize and explain how to collect any prizes you may have earned.

The Mega Millions jackpot will now climb to $527 million for Friday's drawing. That is the estimated annuitized jackpot. The lump sum estimation for Friday's Mega Millions game is $261.9 million.

Tonight, Wednesday, August 21, 2024, there will be a Powerball drawing. The top prize in that game will be $20 million. Powerball is starting a new jackpot following a $44 million win in that game on Monday.

Lotto Texas with Extra! will also draw tonight. That Texas Lottery game features a jackpot prize of $13 million for the annuitized jackpot. If you chose the lump sum payout in Lotto Texas with Extra! your prize would be approximately $7.57 million.

Projects You Forgot Your Favorite 'Yellowstone' Actors Were In

Yellowstone has swept the nation with its western themes and constant drama. What has really sold the show - aside from Taylor Sheridan's brilliant writing and directing - is the cast he assembled.

But don't think for a second these men and women didn't have a stacked resume before taking on their respective roles in the Dutton saga. Several were in some pretty big films or television shows before they ever set foot on the Yellowstone ranch.
