Mega Millions , Texas Lottery Confirm $344 Million Jackpot Win

Fans of the Texas Lottery and the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game have a lot to "noodle on" over the next week or so. We have learned that Mega Millions is going to be making significant changes in the way we play the game in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, or any other place where Mega Millions tickets are sold in the state. 

The changes are being implemented in order to create more jackpot winners, larger prize winners, and more of them too. The drawback to the new plan is it will cost you a little bit more to play Mega Millions in Texas in the very near future.

It is in the spirit of the current winning guidelines that we bring you some exceptional news. The Mega Millions lottery game had a jackpot winner on Tuesday night. 

That was the drawing for Tuesday, March 25, 2025, and if you played you certainly want to check your tickets. We have confirmed through our sources at Mega Millions that a single ticket earned the game's top prize of $344 million. We have also confirmed some other major prize winners sold in Texas for Tuesday's game.

After checking your ticket against those numbers if you feel you are holding a winner please go to the Official Texas Lottery Website or the Official Mega Millions website to confirm your win. You will also find important prize redemption information on those sites as well.

Shortly after 1 this morning we were told that the jackpot winning ticket was sold in Illinois. That ticket is worth $344 million. Another ticket sold in Florida matched all five of the white ball numbers, that ticket is worth $1 million this morning.

Our sources at the Texas lottery confirmed that two tickets sold for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing matched four of the five white balls and the Mega Ball. By rule, the prize amount for that match scenario is $10,000. But one of the ticket purchasers opted for the Megaplier which doubled their prize to $20,000.

The Texas Lottery does not reveal point of purchase details for prizes under $1 million. So we can't tell you where the big money winners were purchased. But we do know that 43,599 winning tickets were sold in Texas for Tuesday's game.

The Mega Millions jackpot will now start a new jackpot prize on Friday with a jackpot amount of $20 million. However, the big changes we referenced at the beginning of this article will soon take over instantly raising that $20 million to $50 million by April 8th. Assuming the jackpot doesn't grow above $50 million before then.

Powerball will provide your next chance at instant millions on Wednesday night. The jackpot in that game is estimated to be $484 million for the annuity or $228.1 for the lump sum or cash payout. The Texas Lottery will also hold a drawing for the Lotto Texas with Extra! game on Wednesday night. The top prize in that game is $8.75 million.
