Through the magic of Powerball and the Texas Lottery January 20th not only brought us a new President and a winter storm, no Powerball and the lottery didn't do those, but it created a brand new millionaire in the great state of Texas. In fact, the big win in the Texas Lottery for Monday's Powerball drawing was revealed to be the game's largest win for that particular drawing.

If you weren't keeping up with Powerball and Mega Millions, the two multi-state lottery games available for Texas Lottery players then you need to know both games got jackpot winners over the weekend. The Mega Millions prize was $113 million which went to an Arizona-sold ticket. The Powerball Prize which was $328 million was won by a ticket sold in Oregon. That big win happened this past Saturday night.

That meant that Monday's Powerball drawing, the one for January 20, 2025, would be for a top prize of $20 million. That's the starting amount for each Powerball jackpot. It's the starting amount for Mega Millions too. That game draws for its first jackpot following a big win tonight at 10.

What Were Monday's Powerball Numbers?

Here is how Monday's Powerball drawing played out.

Our sources at Powerball did confirm that no ticket sold across the game's footprint matched the numbers needed to claim the $20 million top prize. However, there was a Match 5 Million winner and that ticket was sold in Texas.

Did a Texas Ticket Win Powerball?

The Texas Lottery has confirmed that almost 18,000 tickets purchased for Powerball in the state for last night's drawing returned money to their investors. One ticket sold in San Antonio at the QuickTrip on San Pedro Avenue returned an stiped of $1,000,000. That's Texas' newest millionaire and a Powerball Match 5 Million winner.

If you want to double-check your ticket, here are the numbers we saw rolling out of the hopper last night.

15   16   32   47   54   Powerball 06   Power Play x2

It is very important that you verify your tickets at the Official Texas Lottery website. You can also confirm your numbers at the Official Powerball Website. But I am encouraging a visit to the Texas Lottery site because many field offices and prize redemption centers are closed or have reduced operating hours because of the wintry weather in Texas today.

Those areas could be operating under reduced or limited hours for the next several days as well, simply consult the Texas Lottery website for the details.  Lotto Texas with Extra! now has a larger jackpot prize than both Powerball and Mega Millions. That game drew last night as well. There was no jackpot winner. So, when they draw again for Lotto Texas on Wednesday the estimated top prize will be $71 million for the annuitized prize.
