A person wanted in the murder of a 29-year-old woman in September has been arrested by authorities in Evangeline Parish.

According to KATC-TV 3, Larry Slaughter was caught near Beaver Creek Wednesday morning, and he was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail on a count of second-degree murder.

Slaughter allegedly killed Latoya Richard.

Police told KATC Richard's body was found on the floor of her home with her head in a bucket of water. Her death was initially ruled suspicious, but police issued an arrest warrant Tuesday after her death was ruled a homicide.
