One Person Dead In Opelousas House Fire

73 year old Mary Ann Sam was found dead today after an early morning fire was extinguished by St. Landry Parish District 3 firefighters. The wood frame home was totally engulfed when firefighters arrived shortly after 4:00am. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of Sam's death. Investigators continue to process the scene in order to determine cause of the blaze.
