Apparently someone opted to not Stay-at-Home last night in New Iberia and that someone got shot. It probably didn't happen exactly that way but how it happened and why it happened and who made it happen are all questions the New Iberia Police Department would like to have answered.

According to NIPD, a shooting was reported in the city last night near the intersection of Hopkins and Washington Streets. Police say there was one victim. That victim sustained what is believed to be a non-life threatening injury. The victim was transported for treatment.

Meanwhile, New Iberia officers and detectives are collecting evidence and statements from witnesses who may have seen what happened. If you have information on this incident you are encouraged to come forward to New Iberia Police. It is possible to offer your tips through Iberia Crime Stoppers. You could be eligible for a reward.

As of now, police have no suspects in custody. However, this is a developing story.
