Police are searching for a suspect wanted for stabbing a Lafayette teen Tuesday night.

Lafayette Police Spokesman Cpl. Paul Mouton said the 16-year-old victim told police he was walking near the 400 block of Bluebird Drive around 8 p.m. when he and the suspect began arguing.

The argument escalated into a fight when the suspect stabbed the victim in the right side of his abdomen.

The suspect immediately fled the area while the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
