On the Texas Lottery Website, you can review past winners of some of the state's biggest lottery prizes. Powerball is a popular game in Texas, probably because the game has made million-dollar winners in San Antonio, a $150,000 winner in Gainesville, and last night's Powerball drawing just added a few more names and a few more towns to the list.

The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday, August 14, 2024, was listed at $20 million. It's one of the few times we don't have to estimate the game's top prize because of Monday's $214 million jackpot win in the game. That jackpot winner was sold in Pennsylvania. The big win reset the game's top prize to its starting amount, which is $20 million.

How did last night's drawing play out?

The numbers that we observed rolling out of the hopper and changing lives last night were:

08   09   23   29   62   Powerball 13  Power Play  x2

Use those numbers for reference but do verify your ticket at the Official Powerball Website or the Official Texas Lottery Website before you attempt to collect a prize. Those sites do have the official Powerball numbers and can assist you in verifying your win and collecting your prize should you be so fortunate.

Our sources at Powerball did reveal that no tickets sold across the game's multi-state platform matched the numbers needed to win the $20 million jackpot. There were no Match 5 Million winners either. But our sources at the Texas Lottery did share this nugget of good news for Lone Star lottery players.

Texas Ticket Wins Huge Prize in Wednesday's Powerball Drawing

Actually, there were two Texas-sold tickets that matched for big money on Wednesday. Both tickets missed the $20 million by just one number. However, one player opted for the Power Play which doubled their winnings. Both tickets matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball. The ticket that opted for the Power Play is valued at $100,000. The one that did not is valued at $50,000.

There was no big winner in Wednesday's other big money draw game in the state, Lotto Texas with Extra! will feature a top prize of $12 million next Saturday night. The game did produce three winners of more than $12,000 so if you played that game, you might want to check your tickets.
