The man who was been sought by Lafayette Police in connection with the shooting death of a man on Louisiana Avenue turned himself in at the department.

Lafayette Police Corporal Bridgette Dugas says that 20-year-old Taveon Malik Leary was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center Wednesday.

Leary was booked on a charge for Second Degree Murder.

This shooting death happened on March 24.

The victim, 22-year-old Kendrick Flugence Jr., was found shot multiple times. He was found lying in the parking lot of the Mon Chateau apartment complex.

Flugence was taken to a hospital, but the man died from his injuries.

Leary was being sought since April 4.
