Suspect Identified in New Iberia Fatal Shooting

New Iberia Police are searching for Dominic Lamar George this morning. George is believed to be the prime suspect in a fatal shooting that took place in the early morning hours of Sunday in the city.

Police say the shooting took place near the intersection of South Corine and Lombard Streets. One of the two victims in the shooting was reported to have been found dead at the scene. The second victim was transported to a local hospital where his injuries are thought to not be life-threatening.

In addition to the warrant out for George's arrest on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, he is facing other unrelated charges. New Iberia Police say George is wanted in connection with a home invasion and thefts that are not believed to be directly related to this case.
