Texas Lottery Alert: $100,000 Powerball Winner Unclaimed
Yesterday was Mother's Day across Texas. And from Houston to Beaumont, San Angelo to Lubbock, and Palestine to Muleshoe, the good people of the great state of Texas celebrated the "hand that rocks the cradle".
Now, I am sure every Texas mom was treated like royalty on Sunday. But for at least two Texans who played the Powerball Lottery game on Saturday night, that celebration might have been bigger, even by Texas standards.
That's because our sources in Austin at the Texas Lottery Offices have confirmed that Saturday's Powerball game produced not one, but two high-dollar winners in the Lone Star State. The winning tickets are valued at $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
Here's what we know. First, let's get you the numbers from the Saturday, May 11, 2024 Powerball drawing.
Saturday's top prize in the Powerball game was $37.2 million. There were no tickets sold across the game's footprint that matched the numbers needed to claim that prize. Speaking of the numbers, here is how the ping pong balls bounced on Saturday. The numbers were:
03 06 39 49 67 Powerball 21 Power Play x2
You'll want to verify those numbers before you attempt to claim any prize. You can verify them at the Official Texas Lottery website or the Official Powerball website. Both sites allow you to input your ticket numbers to confirm any prize that you may be entitled to.
As we mentioned there was no jackpot winner Saturday. There were also no tickets sold that matched enough numbers to claim a Match 5 Million prize. So, the $100,000 win in Texas was one of the largest prizes awarded in Saturday's game.
But as we mentioned there was also a $50,000 winner sold in Texas on Saturday. Oddly enough, both tickets earned their prizes the same way, they matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball. So technically, both Texas tickets "missed by one number". What a bummer. But still, $100,000 and $50,000 is nothing to sneeze at.
The next drawing in the Powerball Lottery will take place tonight, Monday, May 13, 2024 just before 10 p.m. The estimated top prize is $47 million for the annuitized jackpot and $22 million for the lump sum payout. Tuesday's Mega Millions will be an estimated $363 million in case you were wondering.
Please play these and all games of chance responsibly. Most lottery tickets sold are not winners so only spend what your budget will allow you to lose. If you feel as though you have an issue with gambling please call and get help. There is a toll-free assistance line, 1-800-GAMBLER, available to you free of charge. Good Luck.
