Texas Lottery Confirms Epic Mega Millions Win on Tuesday
Texas Lottery players are in a groove. It seems as if every time the ping pong balls drop in a multi-state lottery game such as Powerball or Mega Millions we're reporting on a life-changing lottery win in Beaumont, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, or some other smaller community in the Lone Star State.
Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing, according to the Texas Lottery accomplished that feat last night as a ticket sold in the state of Texas was the top prize winner in the Mega Millions drawing for Tuesday, November 12, 2024. If memory serves us correctly it was the second such epic win on a Mega Millions ticket in the past month.
Texas Ticket is Big Winner in Mega Millions Tuesday Night
Mega Millions is the game with the largest jackpot as of right now. When the drawing was held at 10 pm on Tuesday players were hoping to earn a jackpot with an estimated top prize of $361 million. That's the estimated jackpot for a winner choosing the annuity if they wanted to opt for the lump sum or cash payout that prize would have been $169.2 million. Again, that's an estimate.
Here's how Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing unfolded.
First, it's good to see host John Crow back in step with the "fashion gods". His previous outfit from an earlier drawing drew the ire of commenters on social media. But last night, John was looking great and the money was looking better.
However, our sources at Mega Millions did confirm that no tickets sold across the Mega Millions landscape matched the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize. But a ticket sold in Texas got about as close to matching those numbers as you can get.
Texas Lottery Confirms Second $3 Million Dollar Mega MIllions Win
The Texas Lottery confirmed to us late Tuesday that a ticket that was purchased at an H-E-B Food Store in San Antonio earned a Match 5 Million prize. Not only did they earn a million dollars for their Mega Millions investment they actually tripled their winnings by choosing the game's Megaplier option.
That means the ticket sold at the H-E-B Food Store on South New Braunfels Avenue in San Antonio sold a $3 million winner. That's the second $3 million dollar winner Mega Millions has made in Texas in the past month.
The Texas Lottery also confirmed two tickets sold for Tuesday's game matched four of five white balls and the Mega Ball. One of those tickets opted for the Megaplier, the other did not so the winnings were listed as $30,000 on one ticket and $10,000 on the other.
All in all 54,831 tickets sold in Texas for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing were winners. 21,857 of those winning tickets had their winnings tripled by taking advantage of the Megaplier option. Were you one of the winners? Let's check your numbers.
