Texas Lottery Confirms Powerball Win on Saturday
If you played the Powerball Lottery game on Saturday night with the Texas Lottery then you need to take a minute and double-check the tickets you bought. Powerball has been making millionaires in Texas. In recent weeks the Texas Lottery has confirmed big money payouts in Marshall, Austin, Frisco, Dallas, Houston, and even a $50,000 Powerball winner in Beaumont.
This past Saturday night the Powerball jackpot was estimated to be $162 million for the annuitized jackpot, and the lump sum payout for a winning ticket on Saturday was estimated to be just over $75 million.
If you didn't see the drawing, here's how it unfolded for June 1, 2024.
The bouncing balls determined the winning Powerball numbers to be:
28 38 52 54 68 Powerball 08 Power Play x2
Use those numbers for reference but please do verify your tickets at the Official Powerball website or the Official Texas Lottery website. You can input numbers from several tickets at those sites if you played more than one. Also, you can confirm your prize and how to go about collecting it when you visit those "official" sites.
Our sources at the Texas Lottery in Austin tell us that no ticket sold in Texas or anywhere in the country matched the numbers needed to claim the Powerball top prize of $162 million. There were no Match 5 Million winners on Saturday either which means one of the three big-money winners sold in Texas, a $100,000 winner, was one of Saturday's top prizes in all of Powerball.
In addition to the $100,000 winner, there were two other $50,000 winners sold in Texas for Saturday's drawing. The Texas Lottery does not publish point-of-purchase information on prizes of less than $1 million, so if you played, here's your reminder to check your tickets.
Meanwhile, tonight the Powerball jackpot will climb to an estimated annuitized $171 million. That drawing will take place at 9:59 this evening. Also, on Tuesday, Mega Millions, the other multi-state lottery game available in Texas, will draw for their jackpot of $560 million.
We do ask that you play these and all lottery games responsibly. Most lottery tickets are not winners so be mindful of what you spend knowing that you could lose it all. If you need help with a gambling problem call 1-800-GAMBLER. The call and the referrals are free. Good Luck.
