Texas Lottery Reveals Huge Mega Millions/Lotto Texas Wins

The ice and snow may have folks locked inside their homes in Houston, Galveston, Beaumont, Orange, Vidor, and other communities in southeast Texas this morning but that didn't prevent the Texas Lottery and Mega Millions from heating up the night in Texas with some major big-money wins.

The Lotto Texas with Extra! game actually drew on Monday night but we didn't have details to pass along to you. So here is what we found out from Monday's drawing. There were six tickets sold in Texas for Lotto Texas with Extra! that earned a prize of $11,889 on Monday. Those were the players that spent the extra dollar for the Extra! function of the game.

The Texas Lottery also confirmed that another 15 tickets sold in the state earned $1,889 for matching the same number scenario as the tickets listed above, but those players did not opt for the multiplier or Extra! function of the game.

Lotto Texas with Extra will actually have a larger jackpot than either Powerball or Mega Millions for a week or so. The current Lotto Texas jackpot is listed at $71 million, that's an estimation, while Powerball will draw tonight for $31 million and last night's Mega Million game featured a top prize of only $20 million.

Now, about that Mega Millions drawing from Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Here is how that played out last night.

Mega Millions has had two jackpot winners already in 2025. The most recent was a big win over the weekend where a single ticket took the game's top prize of $113 million. Last night the game started a new jackpot amount at $20 million. There was no ticket sold across the game's footprint that matched the numbers needed to claim that jackpot prize.

The Texas Lottery did reveal that Tuesday's drawing produced two big-money winners though. We have confirmed that the tickets matched four of five white balls and the Mega Ball to win a prize of $10,000. Neither of the Texas-sold tickets opted for the Megaplier so what could have been $40,000 for just a dollar more will remain at $10,000.
