Three Arrested For Attempting To Cash Stolen Check In Iberia Parish
Police arrest three people Wednesday after Chase Bank employees report someone was trying to cash a stolen check.
Sheriff Louis Ackal reports 24-year-old Chase Romero was arrested for trying to cash the check.
Two other people were also arrested in the case. They are 44-year-old Patrick Bourgeouis and 42-year-old Eva Bourgeouis.
All three are from New Iberia. Their names, addresses and charges are as follows:
- Chase Romero of 1218 Main Street Lot 1 in New Iberia has been charged with monetary instrument abuse, bank fraud and illegal possession of stolen things.
- Eva Bourgeouis DOB 09/05/1972 of 3606 Jefferson Island Road Lot 2, Iberia Parish, charged with monetary instrument abuse, illegal possession of stolen things and forgery.
- Patrick Bourgeouis DOB 04/27/1970 of 3606 Jefferson Island Road Lot 2, Iberia Parish, charged with bank fraud, monetary instrument abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and illegal possession of stolen things.
Detectives say they are working to find out how the suspects came to be in possession of the stolen checks.
