Video of Kid Being ‘Forced’, at ‘Gunpoint’, Into Trunk in Scott, Louisiana

A video surfaced over the weekend of what appears to be a very dangerous joke taking place at the McDonald's in Scott.

Reddit user ILoveYou_HaveAHug posted the video with the title "Rolled up on this. Good times Scott, LA. Go Rams!", the last part in reference to the Acadiana High School shirt one of the boys is wearing.

The video was taken in the McDonald's drive-thru line in Scott, just off of Interstate 10. In the video, one of the youths opens the trunk, removes what appears to be a paintball gun, and then points it at a passenger in the back seat.

That passenger exits the vehicle and crawls into the trunk, seemingly willingly. The kid holding the gun then closes the trunk, gets in the car, and the car moves up in the drive-thru line.

When the car stops again, two occupants exit the vehicle, open the trunk, and then appear to act like they are striking the kid wearing the Acadiana High School uniform in the trunk.

The trunk is then again closed, and the video ends.

Sounds like harmless horseplay, right? It looks that way, too. Here's the video.

Most of the people in the comments section agree: kids being dumb.

One user wasn't certain if the video was just kids being dumb, or if the video needed to be turned over to the police.

One Reddit user thinks it might just be the hijinx of the beginning of football season.

By "hijinx", does that equate to "hazing"?

On the surface, it looks like innocent fun, but paintball guns can be very dangerous. I personally know someone who lost part of his vision due to being struck by a paintball.

Protective gear should be worn when using paintball guns in the way they were intended to be used: mock war. A paintball gun can shoot its projectile at around 300 feet per second and, when it hits you, it can not only leave a bruise but can actually injure you beyond superficially.

Also, riding in a trunk can't be safe, right?

I am hoping that they took him out of the trunk before they left the parking lot for two reasons:

1. Rear-end crash, and
2. Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

If that car were to be involved in a rear-end crash (or any crash, for that matter), the kid in the trunk would have little to no protection during the crash. A rear-end crash could end up hurting him severely, maybe even up to the point of a fatal injury.

Being left in a trunk while the engine is running, especially at idle, isn't a good idea, either. If the trunk allows the dangerous gas to seep in, severe brain damage could occur within minutes - even death.

Am I being a little too dramatic here? Maybe so. Maybe I am just speculating a bit too much, as this clip only gives us a glimpse of what was going on.

Are paintball guns safe? The short answer is "they could be if used properly". Just like any other gun.
