
Portion of W. St. Mary Blvd in Lafayette to Close Starting March 10
LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) - A heads up if you frequently travel on W. St. Mary Boulevard in Lafayette, because it will be closing next week for some work.
Lafayette Consolidated Government's Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department said the 1000 block of the road, located between Oleander Street and Hibiscus Street will close beginning Monday, March 10, 2025, through Friday, March 21, 2025.
What's the reason for the closure of W. St. Mary Boulevard in Lafayette?
The closure is necessary for drainage personnel to replace the subsurface cross drain across W. St. Mary Boulevard.

What are the detour routes while construction is taking place on W. St. Mary Boulevard?
The following detour routes will be in place and local access will be maintained:
- Ray Avenue
- St. Louis Street
- Howard Avenue
- Hibiscus Street
- Myrtle Place
- Oleander Street
Motorists are encouraged to follow the posted detour signs and use caution when traveling near the work zone.
