A Washington woman leading police on a high speed chase--all over a suspended license.

It all started when police in Port Barre pulled over Kandice Castille for an expired inspection sticker.

Police say she was nervous and edgy, and for good reason. When the officer noticed the suspended license, he tried to make an arrest, but not before Castille jumped back into her car and sped off.

Police say she sped through school zones, ran red lights, and wove in and out of traffic at high speeds from Port Barre to Opelousas. The chase ended, though, when Castille tried to take a turn too fast and ended up in a ditch.

In addition to charges of running from police, Castille is also being held on several bench warrants, and she has a probation hold from the Department of Corrections.
