Will Lafayette Police Officers Get A Raise?
When an introductory ordinance was put before the council two weeks ago that would increase the starting pay of Lafayette Police Department officers, the measure passed with unanimous support.
Tonight that measure comes up for final adoption.
Lafayette Police Chief Toby Aguilllard joined "Acadiana's Morning News" today to talk about tonight's council meeting.
Aguillard says every indication is that members of the council are favorable to the measure.
Lafayette Police Association 905 member Corporal David Stanley joined the Chief this morning. He says the union came up with this plan, and the Chief signed off on it.
The council meeting begins at 5:30 today.
