Ferriday House Fire Claims Life Of Elderly Woman

Firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that led to the death of a 95-year-old Ferriday woman.

Fire Chief Joe Sontoyo tells The Natchez Democrat that Sarah Crumb was pronounced dead at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday after a fire damaged her home Wednesday morning.

Sontoyo said firefighters were able to get Crumb out of the house alive, but she died later at the hospital.
