Inmates Charged After Contraband Found In St. Mary Parish Jail
Five inmates have been charged following an investigation into contraband being smuggled into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville.
Deputies said a search of the facility was immediately conducted after one of the inmates posted to Facebook video of himself and others with the illegal items.
"All of the contraband items seen in the pictures and video were confiscated, including cell phones," a release from the sheriff's office read.
The offenders, 34-year-old Quintal Davis of Morgan City, 34-year-old Jonathan Ronbison of Franklin, 23-year-old Spencer Bourda of Franklin, 28-year-old Michael Crouch of Morgan City, and 42-year-old Joseph Lightfoot of Franklin, were charged with possession of contraband in a penal institution.
Detectives are continuing more leads in the case, and the investigation continues.
