Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle in Lafayette on Thursday Night

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday night in the 2800 block of NE Evangeline Thruway in Lafayette.

According to the Lafayette Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:20 pm when a male was attempting to cross the Frontage Road and was hit by a southbound vehicle.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The Frontage Road was closed for a period of time last night but has since been reopened.

Traffic investigators were on the scene last night and the investigation is ongoing.
