Lafayette Police are investigating after someone called them to say a man shot at him while he was at the intersection of Kaliste Saloom and South Beadle Road.

Police say the 40-year-old male victim was stopped in traffic at the intersection when he saw a white four door Pontiac Bonneville pull up beside him.  The victim says a light skinned black male was driving the car.

The victim says the suspect rolled down his passenger side window and began yelling at him.

The victim then drove forward, and he heard a loud bang.  He says at that moment his car door window shattered.

The victim immediately turned onto South Beadle Road, and he called police.

The victim says he had only minor injuries and his 5-year-old passenger was not injured.

The suspect fled down Kaliste Saloom Road.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
