Sunset, Opelousas Residents Urged To Look Out For Suspicious Activity
SUNSET, La. (KPEL) -- Police in St. Landry Parish are urging residents to pay attention to their personal property due to a recent rash of daytime break-ins in the Opelousas and Sunset areas.
Capt. Megan Vizena with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office said popular items, such as jewelry, are being targeted.
"Consider installing deadbolts, using a wooden stick on sliding door tracks, installing an alarm system, and getting to know your neighbors," Vizena said.
Vizena urged residents to report suspicious activity to police or Crime Stoppers at 948-TIPS.
